Wiring The C400KF For An External Bell

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Only use a 12 Volt Bell with these Clocks.

To begin with you will need to be at the Clocking Terminal and have the Admin Card with you.

Press the Menu button, then swipe the Admin Card when the padlock symbol displays.

Select PERSONLIZE.

Select Bell Schedules.

Select Options, then External Bell Relay and ensure that NC2 is selected.

You can now wire the External Bell.  These can be purchased from our website www.clockrite.co.uk.

On the back of the C400 KF, there should be 2 green connectors. These can be used to wire the access control adaptors, but we will look at the bell function.

The green adaptors plug into the 2 ports on the rear of the clock. If you purchased a terminal after November 2017 these will be pre-wired.

In this example we will use a ORANGE (COM2) and GREEN (NO2) wires to connect the bell.

The supplied Power Supply Unit (PSU) with the BELL will need to be modified (this should have already been done by us in office but if not please follow the instructions below). This should be performed by a qualified electrician.

Remove the small end from the PSU and strip the wires

Connect the +ive wire from the PSU to the GREEN wire, the ORANGE wire to unmarked Bell Cable and the –ive wire to the marked Bell Cable as is

Connect the unmarked Bell Cable to the +ive connection and marked Bell Cable to the -ive connection.

ideally the bell should be mounted on a wall within 1.5 metres of a 3 pin 240 volt power socket.

The bell back box is drilled as required to mount on the wall.

Note the correct orientation of the back box as indicated by the arrow.

When correctly mounted, the striker pin should be on the right hand side (three o’clock) position.

This example below, shows a typical bell connected to a C200 clock.
