How To Restore A ClockRite Back

IMPORTANT - DO NOT RESTORE A BACKUP UNLESS YOU CAN NO LONGER ACCESS YOUR CURRENT DATABASE.

Please have a look at the points below for information on how to restore a ClockRite Database from a Backup;

  1. Navigate to the folder where the backups are created and stored. The default location is C:\ClockRite\Backup but if you are storing your ClockRite Data on a shared location (Server/NAS etc), then they should be there instead. For example, if your ClockRite Database was stored in Z:\Accounts\ClockRite\Database then your backups should be stored in something like Z:\Accounts\ClockRite\Backup.
  2. Find the most recent backup by sorting them by ''Date Modified''. As a side note, the backups are prefixed with the date and time of the backup (01-01-22 12-00 DBClockRite.mdb) so they should be easy to find.
  3. Copy and Paste the selected backup into the ClockRIte Database folder. (eg Z:\Accounts\ClockRite\Database)
  4. Rename the current Database from DBClockRite.mdb to old_DBClockRite.mdb.
  5. Rename the backup Database from 01-01-22 12-00 DBClockRite.mdb to DBClockRite.mdb.

You can now open the ClockRite Software.

You may find that clocking data is missing from the restored backup depending upon how old that backup was. If this is the case you will need to reload some missing clocking in files.

Clocking files contain information for the period of time since the device was last cleared. This process is completed automatically after each download via a network connection, if downloading via USB this is completed manually at the device.

In this example the file "Jan 28 2022 S 0.dat" contains all clocking's since Nov 24 2021 which is when the previous download completed.

1. To reload files Click on the 'Clock Ops' icon on the top toolbar.

2. Then click on the 'View File' icon (White page with magnifying glass).

3. select the file you wish to reload, then click on the 'Reload' icon.

Complete a Download

If the clocking's you are missing come after your most recent clocking file then you may need to complete a download.

For full instructions on how to do this please see the Communicating with the Clocking Terminal Guide.
