Troubleshooting Facial Issues

Facial issues are commonly caused by one of the following:

A) Poor initial registration - The terminal recognises users based on their initial registration. If the initial registration is poor, the terminal will find it more difficult to match subsequent facial scans to the user profile. In this case the user's face should be re-registered. Facial issues can often be resolved by obtaining a more consistent registration.

B) Wearing Glasses - Very much like passport photo and border control, facial bio-metrics work better if glasses are not worn due to anti reflective coatings and polarizing glass.  If you are having problems registering your face please re-register without wearing your glasses.

C) Poor Lighting/Clock Location - As the C-400 Facial Recognition clocking terminal uses 2 cameras to detect faces, it is important that the device(s) is installed at the correct height and in the correct location.

So that we can best assist you please provide the following;

1. Please confirm the installation height of the clocking terminal?
2. Were the employees faces registered on the clock they are having issues with?
3. Was the clock in the location it is now when then employees faces were registered?
4. Are there any scratches or blemishes visable on the cameras?
5. On the clocking terminal, Go into the Menus with the admin card, go to Autotest, Select Test Face. Stand in front of the terminal and take a picture of this screen.
6. Take Pictures of the clocking terminals location including;

  • The wall the clocking terminal is on.
  • A picture taken from the clocks position facing left
  • A picture taken from the clocks position facing right
  • A picture taken from the clocks position facing forward
  • A picture of the ceiling above the clock
