C-400 - Emergency USB Download Instructions

These instructions are only to be followed if normal network downloads cannot be performed.

**DO NOT FOLLOW ANY OTHER GUIDES AS YOU MAY ENCOUNTER DATA LOSS**

If your Clock cannot be connected to your Local Area Network/WIFI, clocking data can be downloaded via USB following the steps below.

1.      Insert the USB drive into the port on the left hand side of the clock.

2.      Use the Admin Card to access the Admin Menus.

3.      Highlight 'USB Manager'  and press M\OK.

4.      Highlight 'Download' and press M\OK.

5.      Select the date range you require (Today/Yesterday/This Week etc)

6.      If successful the display will read 'Data Download Succeed!' Press M\OK to confirm and then the ESC key to return to the main menu. Remove the USB drive

This process does NOT delete any data from the clocking terminal. This will be done once normal network downloads are working.

You can now take the USB to your PC, plug it in.

  1. Open the ClockRite Software
  2. Click on the  ‘Clock Operations’  button on the top toolbar, this will open the Clock Operations Screen
  3. On the Clock Operations toolbar, click the 'Open Clock Download Utility’ button
  4. On the Utility screen, select 'USB Stick' under the 'Download' option. (See image below)
  5. Click the 'Download' button. This will open a file browser.
  6. Navigate to your USB drive and look for a file named 1_attlog.dat
  7. Click on this file and then click 'Open'. If you have multiple clocks, multiple _attlog.dat files will be present. They will be numbered 1_, 2_, etc, with the number corresponding to the clock from which data was downloaded. In this case, load each file in turn.
  8. The Utility will populate with data. Close the Utility and this data will be processed.
This process should only be used as a short term solution until the network connection is working.
