How To Change A Clockrite Employee ID Number
This process is for changing an employee ID number in the ClockRite or TimePro software
Ensure that your software is closed and you said YES to create a backup
- Identify the ID number that the employee you wish to change is currently assigned to (eg 101, 102)
- Ensure that the software is closed and you said YES to create a backup
- On your PC press the Windows button and the letter E (this opens up a Windows Explorer box)
- Navigate to c:\clockrite (If you have Clockrite software) or c:\timepro_ng (If you have TimePro software)
- Open the ChangeCR.exe utility (or Change.exe if you have TimePro)
- Ensure that the Database location matches that in your software (you can check this by going to file>file locations within the ClockRite software, but it should be correct)
- Enter the current number of the employee in the 'Original Number' box (eg 101)
- Enter the number you want it changed to in the 'New Number' box (eg 888) - You will get an error if the number is already in use.
- Press CHANGE.
WE ALWAYS ADVISE THAT YOU CLOSE THE CHANGE UTILITY AND RE-START AFTER EVERY EMPLOYEE.
When you re-start the software, Employee 101 will no longer exist, as there record is now against 888 (or whatever you change it to)
======
If you need to add a new employee record against 101 (or the record you changed)
In the software go to the Employee icon.
Click on the WHITE PAGE icon (NEW)
Type in the ID number (eg 101) and press OK. (You will get an error if the number is already in use.)
You can now enter the employee name, shift, overtime and group as required.
Once complete, this can then be sent to the clock so that the employee can the either register their biometric info or start using their clocking card.
