Finding a valid IP Address
Finding a valid IP Address for your Clocking Terminal
If you are unsure how to identify a compatible IP address for your ClockRite System, the IP banding of your network can be shown by running a simple command prompt on your PC.
On your PC:
Click on the start bar and search for 'cmd' |
|
Click on the 'cmd' program option to open Command Prompt. |
|
Type 'ipconfig' and press enter. Your screen will look something like this: You are looking for the 'Default Gateway' of your Network. The IP address of your Clock must share the first three numbers of this Default Gateway. For example: If your Default Gateway is 192.168.1.254, a compatible IP address for your Clock may be 192.168.1.201. Although the first three numbers must be the same, the fourth number in the IP address of your clock must be different to that of your default gateway, and that of any other device on your network. |
